Hi, I’m Jai. I’m currently at UC San Diego, advised by Prof. Xiaolong Wang, where I explore learning based methods for robotics.
Previously, I worked as a Robotics Research Engineer at Field AI, where I developed learning-based policies for loco-manipulation, designed large-scale simulation infrastructures for unit testing and data generation, and explored risk-bounded foundational models to enhance robotic autonomy.
Before that, I was part of the CNRS-AIST Joint Robotics Lab, IRL - Japan as a Technical Research Staff, working under the supervision of Dr.Mitsuharu Morisawa. My research there focused on implementing Deep Reinforcement Learning (RL) policies for quadruped locomotion in unstructured environments and studying Sim2Real transfer for RL policies in both humanoids and quadrupeds.
In my free time, I enjoy working on hands-on projects that bring together electronics, programming, and design. I document most of my experiments and create open resources here to help and inspire others in the robotics community.
UPDATE: I’m currently seeking opportunities in corporate research labs for the summer of 2026. If you know of any openings related to reinforcement learning or robotic control, I’d love to hear from you — please feel free to reach out via email. Any leads or recommendations are greatly appreciated!
